Two brothers from Telford have been found guilty of a string of sexual offences against young girls.

Ahdel Ali, 24, and Mubarek Ali, 29, both of Regent Street, Wellington, were also convicted of controlling child prostitution and trafficking girls.

Between them, the pair were convicted of 25 out of 26 charges and are due to be sentenced at a later date.

Stafford Crown Court heard the offences took place in the Telford area between March 2008 and December 2009.

The jury heard the brothers had sexually abused, trafficked, prostituted or tried to prostitute four Telford teenagers.

Ahdel Ali was also found guilty of raping a girl as young as 13.

One teenager was sold as a prostitute by Mubarek Ali when she was four months pregnant.

Giving evidence, the 19-year-old said that from age 16 she had been taken to have sex with men up to four times a week.

Det Ch Insp Neil Jamieson, of West Mercia Police, said: "Ahdel Ali and Mubarek Ali targeted these girls because of the vulnerability and then systematically groomed them in such a way that eventually they could exploit them sexually for their own gain and gratification."

Harry Ireland, chief prosecutor with the West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service, thanked the victims for their "courage" in giving evidence during the trial.

However, I'm not shocked. Unfortunately, this happens with alarming frequency.

It's like the most recent care home horror story (patients beaten, etc). Again, it's been happening with alarming frequency... and nobody has thought to, y'know, act upon it? Maybe try and deter people from performing such acts? Just a thought.

every story is intricately practically the same though- its so weird

1- Criminal is always a group or more than 1 person, men, with names like Ali, Khan, Akhtar, Sajid

2 victims are always teenage girls, in nearly every case someone has been or got pregnant

3 victims are always groomed with booze and drugs and then passed around other men, one can only assume these other men are also of the names Ali, Khan, Sajid and Akthar

Because they're so underground, every time the authorities suss out another group of grooming turds they're heard about on the news. So these incidents never seem to end.

Well, the three points you make do seem to be the reoccurring pattern in these cases.

Wherby, gangs of mainly Pakistani men are targeting young/underage and vulnerable white girls and exploiting them.

Is anyone not alarmed how "grooming" was the new internet threat but all these cases seem to be based on face-to-face meetings. Why are these kids hanging around with grown men and vice-versa.

At least 4 times? So does that mean it's an exclusive problem? There have been numerous cases that have caught the media's attention but to suggest these are the only crimes committed by grown men against young girls and it's exclusively an asian crime is rubbish and you're just talking out of your prejudice.
