too fat, how can I lose weight in 10months?
Okay, so i'm 17 and weigh 80kg. My height is 5'7 and in different clothes I different types of fat! sometimes TOO fat, sometimes chubby and on rare occasions I look average.. only in dresses.

My belly is mostly hidden due to my height. However, I feel that I am getting too lazy and taking advantage of my height covering my weight. I don't know what to do in order to make myself average or even 'slim' to feel healthier.

I dont eat much chocolate/junk food, atleast once a month.
I know that I should drink alot of water and milk, but nothing to seems to work! I think I just need to increase my metabolism, but I want something motivating?

I am going to visit my cousins next year in july and I want to look slim in order to have a good time and a change of comments about my fat. I feel so depressed, and I am starting A2 in september, so I will be really caught up and busy. I just dont know what to do.

    sorry for the rant

exercising not only burns calories at the time of exercise, it also increases muscle size, hence increasing metabolic rate. It's also not just about what you eat, but when you eat it and how much of it you eat. If you have a good breakfast in the morning and don't just drink your tea or coffee, you are less likely to feel hungry during the day. Why don't you seek professional help? a nutritionist can advice you better on when and what to eat to lose your desired weight

Wut. Losing weight is all about calories. Work out your daily calorie allowance, and stick to it. Really not that hard.

Eat less, track what you eat. Eat your BMR ect. Workout (3 times a week is good for starters).

You should be able to get to a healthier weight that way.
    What are you aiming for?

Also, go to your GP to check for metabolic disorders if you are not overeating. It could be hypothyroid.

Eat less and exercise more, it's the formula for success. Try eating healthier, regular meals and avoid snacking on junk rather having fruit instead. Aside from that try cycling, running or swimming as they are all good cardio exercise. If you stick to the routine of exercising at least 3 times a week and eating healthier food you can lose a lot of of weight in 10 months.

Why should you drink milk? It has loads of calories, fat and carbs in it.

Anyway there's inevitably going to be two sides to losing weight; less calories in (i.e. eat less and eat better) and more calories out (i.e. exercise more and exercise effectively)

How about you keep a basic food diary so that you can assess where the problem is on that side. If you want pop it up here and we'll take a look and make suggestions.

Also you need a decent exercise plan, probably some decent cardio is most appropriate for you and you can also look at your daily routine to see where you can incorporate in more exercise without killing too much time (e.g. could you walk to college instead of bus). If you tell us what you already do, what facilities and kit you've got access to and what you might enjoy doing we can suggest stuff there.

Finally, don't get depressed about it, that'll just demotivate you. 10 months is plenty of time and if you get some lifestyle changes sorted now you should be able to shift the weight no problem!

Has exercise ever occured to you? Try exercise for 10 mins a day. Jog on the spot, do some pullups, pressups, sit ups or something. Even a light run is better than nothing.

There is also a rumour that really hot/spicy food increases the bodies metabolism. So maybe give this a go? I eat all the junk food in the world but I eat spicy food and work out and i'm very lean and light.

good luck! If you give the above a go you may well lose weight in 10 months

Milk? Why would you need lots of milk.

How about you try running a calorie deficit everyday?

SLIM FAST shakes- i did not exercise whilst i did it because i don't have much fat and i didn't want to build muscle. However if you have a lot of fat id say do exercise as well, BUT not too much as you'll probably be weak. cut out all dairy products and carbs and fruit(they contain a lot of sugar). so basically just eat protien and veg

Chin up, you're tall so it's probably not as bad as you think. Most of the weight I lost I did with the help on an app called MyFitnessPal. Basically you put everything you eat into it, it has a food database if you're unsure of calorie content, and you also put in the time you spent exercising. I wanted fast results and tried to level at 1200 cals a day- so say I ate 1600 but did 400 worth of exercise, that'd be fine. As you're taller, as long as you're not in a hurry, 1500 would probably be a good place to aim. Someone above mentoned slimfast, and I've jusr started that to get these last few kg off- so I'll see how it goes before I can vouch for it!
Don't bother with diet pills and don't give yourself an eating problem- diet and exercise are the way!

If you want to lose weight, stick to circa 1000-1200 calories a day, and do a little exercise.

Don't stress about exercising every day because if you keep to the habit of watching what you eat, you will lose weight.

Maybe I'm missing a key component here, but if you didn't have much fat and didn't want to build muscle, what exactly was the purpose of "slim fast shakes"!?

    ^ That's pretty poor advice.
don't do slim fast. The weight doesn't stay off.

You need carbs but avoid white carbs, go for wholewheat pasta and brown rice as they're low GI.
Things like porridge are great because they fill you up and keep you full for longer. Eat a healthy mix of fruit and veg. Eat a lot of protein rich foods (things like eggs are great, an egg white omelet is delicious and you can add things like peppers and mushrooms to add taste!)
Try to eat roughly about 1500 per day and if you're a fitnessphobe - try couch to 5k. In 9 weeks you be able to run 5k but, the actual running schedule is 3 times a week.
Try getting a pedometer also, it'll help when aiming for 10,000 steps a day.

Eat lots of fruit and vegetables (fruit in particular because it helps to increase metabolism), drink lots of water every day because that also speeds it up, don't eat too much of anything with lots of fat in. When having meals, have about four/five small ones a day, rather than two/three big ones. Be consistent and you will notice a difference in time, allow yourself a treat once every couple of weeks or so aswell.
