Is this possible?
I'm just waiting for results day next week and since UCAS has are results i just had a silly brainwave, Since the freedom of information allows institutions to share with us what they have on us if we request it, would this work with getting grades early?
For the record, im waiting for results day and this is just to pass the time -
Re: Is this possible?
Nope, I don't think you can. I think some unis let you know at least some of your grades early and might tell you earlier on that you have a place. Depends on the uni but I think very few unis do such a thing, I'm only going on what I've seen from one friend of mine.
So, probably not? -
Re: Is this possible?Your friend is wrong. Unis aren't allowed to tell you earlier, and if they do UCAS will take the privilege of early results off them. They're not gonna risk that.(Original post by Philzy)

Re: Is this possible?
As an associate lecturer at a University I can tell you that we are not allowed to release any information early. I have had a total of three all staff emails from our assessments and awards unit this week. All of them warning us to refer prospective students to their department.
Also I think you are referring to a request relating to the data protection act. This is a request that you can make for personal data held about yourself. The organisation has 40 days to reply and can levy a £10 charge. A freedom of information (FOI) request normally relates to specific aggregated data or information that is regarded as publicly available. It can only be made to public organisations, including universities. Anyone can make an FOI and they are normally used by journalists to ask things like "How much money did the vice chancellor spend on expenses this year?"Last edited by k.cheung; 09-08-2012 at 15:19. -

I dont think you can since it is personal information - http://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/32817.html this was posted on the SQA site about scripts but I think it would apply to grades as well.
