    Speaker Election II: Manifestos
There are 4 candidates for Speaker:

    JPKC
    Jiving
    Platonic
    Klassy (with a K)
    Capricious

A good speaker must strive to be a bit like a wise old person; they must think fairly and be prodigious like the last one and also cool like Paddy; they must resist further links with the Model United Nations unless a majority of the House clearly agrees with them; they must be respectable and respectful, both towards the House and the admins - work with them, not against them (one does not simply make demands of the Site); they should also pledge to attend meetings at HQ, and HoC Meets, even if cashless, severely anti-social or violently ill.

The idea for a TSR-land wiki resource is utter brill; the next speaker should assist in getting it set-up and then help to keep it politically neutral - parties being unable to properly write costed bills face a girthsome disadvantage.

Above all else in necessity, the speaker should use coloured text in their HoC updates (and funny cat pictures, a new one each night), and definitely be magnanimous towards naughty members who are very, very sorry vis-à-vis their Lib Dem dupe (who was a nice enough member while she lasted).

    Lastly: no more ****ing committees.

    Hello possums,

Nick's decision to leave has left a gaping hole in the conscience of our nation, a chasm into which those who are weak of heart may fall. But we must come together in this time of mourning and by our collective will usher in a new dawn, a brighter dawn free of the sciolistic ramblings of my competitors and alive with the excitement of promise. Too long have the pernicious talons of insouciance strangled the dreams fighting to be given life, but falling slow and dead from our caged tongues. Enough I say! Your trust in me shall be a glorious panacea for the maladies that poison your political souls!

The other candidates are nothing but nescient pederasts and demagogues, too priggish to gain the trust of thinking men and dripping with the egotism that renders them impotent – poor shadows of the men they could be. You must repudiate them. If I let you down then I swear by my sword, rich still with blood of our enemies, that by expiation I will perform seppuku and die proudly in the flowing tears of my people.

    Vote for me because:

    • I was present at the meeting with the admin and mods and thus have an advanced awareness of the current state of development compared to the other candidates.
    • I would keep the house running effectively while being vastly more interesting than the other candidates.
    • I’m lovely and will buy you beer at the meet.

    All my love,

    Paddy x

RorySAs a member and keen leader of the TSR Labour Party for a few months now, I have seeked to bring activity, new ideas and a future to the Model House of Commons. I plan to continue this if I was elected Speaker of this House.

So, you will be asking yourself, why should I vote for Rory?

    • I’m an active member of the House, contributing in mostly all discussions and voting as an MP, on all the bills that are presented to the house.
    • I act in a professional manner which makes me a worthy candidate of taking on the administration and work that a Speaker has to do.
    • Since joining the house, I’ve found it hard to express my opinions on some matters. Taking on a Speakership role will mean that I can be comfortable being neutral.

What plans do I have for the House?

    • Advertise the HoC in other areas of TSR to see an increased member level and increased activity and ideas from new members.
    • Make sure the Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet are all actively working to increase activity within the HoC with bills etc.
    • Continue to establish links with the MUN to make us more integrated and working together on Foreign matters.
    • Push for the Admins of TSR to create a chat box for meetings, summits and debates.
    • Make changes to the Constitution by setting up a committee of MHoC members.
    • Keep up with the day to day administration of the House.

    Vote Rory!

    toronto353

Why you should vote for me:

    - I have a wealth of experience in the MHoC having led TSR UKIP for 20 months and so I am aware of the challenges of the MHoC with regards to organisation.

    - I have the experience of running the EU Bloc which requires updates as well as organising votes and dealing with a range of questions related to the running of the bloc.

    - I am active member of the House and so understand the nature of the MHoC.

What I pledge to do if elected:

    - Continue Nick’s work in terms of delivering daily updates; the Motion and Bill challenge and helping to make new members feel welcome.

    - Look to implement as many of the changes from the Admin meet as possible.

    - Work with the party leaders to drive up recruitment of new members and to boost activity (possibly through an online conference every so often with leaders on TSR if possible to discuss these issues).

    - Launch a survey for all current MHoC members to take (should they so wish) so that I can get wider feedback on what members want.

    - Work with the mods to ensure a positive debating atmosphere in the MHoC.

    - Examine the issue of petitions and how frequently they can be posted and how we could advertise the ability to submit petitions over a wider area of the site (even if for a short period of time).

Vote for experience! Vote for toronto353!

Three days of questioning begin, followed by a 4 day vote.

    Good luck!

I cannot foresee a situation where you would ever be considered crap, Morgsie - don't undersell yourself.

    And yes I quite agree,
Oh if I were still an MP,
My vote would head straight Padd-eeee.

A vote for me is a "**** off" to committees.

They're vital for getting some good anti-bureaucracy jokes out of the Libers, I concede that.

There we have it folks, he is already going back on a campaign pledge. I advise you to stay well clear of this candidate especially as he is known to have strong links to Nick Clegg, that is the right, Sir Nick Clegg of Broken Pledges

Ah, but the House can chug along without Libertarian humour even if it is liquid silver.

Excellent. Can we scrap the conservatives whilst we are at it?
