Genius idea - please, someone make it
Okay, so, I use trains on a daily basis to visit multiple locations. However, finding the best route between all the stations is quite slow and inefficient at the moment.
I don't know if something similar exists, but how about a website which would inform the user to the quickest possible route between 5 stations?
As the title says, feel free to use my idea and profit. I'll even give you a name: easychange. Heck, I just want a more efficient method of travelling.
Good idea? -

Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itAs do I. TfL doesn't possess this functionality.(Original post by justneedhelp)
I live in London, we have TFL! I'm pretty sure that does exactly the same thing haha :P
I want a website that allows me to type in:
Green Park
Chalk Farm
South Ruislip and
Knightsbridge
and give me the quickest route between all the stations. -
Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itNo. If it does, link it.(Original post by BEASTUNLEASHED)

Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itTheoretically... You can do that on TFL, but just separately lol! But i get your point fair enough! Would be a good idea for people who travel alot i guess(Original post by Formerly Helpful_C)

Already exists.
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk
On front page click 'More options, railcards & passengers'
Type in stations in 'Route' section and choose 'Change At'. You can add more than one change. -
Re: Genius idea - please, someone make it
I've been using this a lot recently and I was glad I found it, made my route planning much easier. I don't know if it would be any use to you however just thought I would share.

Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itIt doesn't exist in the way that I would want it to. Not by a long shot.(Original post by tsnake23)

I suppose this is the "best" alternative.
Edit: What about this comment was so deserving of a neg? You don't even know my idea.Last edited by Formerly Helpful_C; 10-08-2012 at 00:53. -
Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itThat's part of the problem. I don't know the quickest route, do I? Hence, the website would tell the user whether the interchange at Tottenham Court Road would be better than the route they were going to use.(Original post by justneedhelp)

E.g. I want to go to St John's Wood, Edgware Road and Oxford Circus from Chigwell.
From my home destination, I would have to enter all 3 stations to find the shortest initial stop. It's inefficient.
My website would tell you that Chigwell --> Oxford Circus --> St John's Wood --> Edgware Road is the quickest. It would be useful if you don't need to spend too long in an area, but have to go to several different areas on different lines. -
Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itI seriously doubt anyone would bother using it to be honest. If I was a tourist in London wanting to visit multiple places then I'd prefer to use common sense to go to the closest station first, or go to the place that I most want to see. Most of the time you'd be able to work it out from a tube map and in many cases the time you'd save taking the absolute fastest route vs the most obvious route would be irrelevant. If there was demand for it then it would have been created already since TFL already have a decent 'quickest route' algorithm on their website.(Original post by Formerly Helpful_C)

Re: Genius idea - please, someone make itYeah, well I don't see you coming up with innovative ideas. Don't worry, just wait for someone else to.(Original post by tsnake23)
