I want a point and click adventure...
I'd quite like a point and click game for my PC but don't know what to get.

I do NOT want Broken Sword or Monkey Island games because I have done them. Thanks in advance.

The Longest Journey and Dreamfall are two of my favourites that I'd certainly recommend.

After watching these two videos I want to give these games a try too. They both look interesting and entertaining from what the videos show, so I feel they are certainly worth a mention.

Enjoy Monkey Island? Try some of the other old LucasArts adventures. Day of the Tentacle is an amazing game (and to this day is still one of my favourite games ever), and they made other classics in the genre like Grim Fandango.

Ben There, Dan That and its sequel Time Gentlemen Please are good. They really feel like old LucasArts style adventure games (although the artwork is a lot more amateur).

I also recommend Gemini Rue. That's a more serious one. Really liked the story in that.

I'd say if you can find a working Windows port of Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, you'll have some fun. Don't expect much, the game was released in 1988.

Else, something a bit more modern...I played and completed Beneath A Steel Sky last year. Epic game.

Or Star Trek: A Final Unity if you don't mind doing Sci-Fi, though you'll need DOSBox to make that one work.

I love point and click games.

Syberia and Syberia 2 are musts. And although you won't find any critical acclaim for them, I really enjoyed the Secret Files games, especially Tunguska

I recommend anything by Dave Gilbert at Wadjet Eye games, The Blackwell series and Gemini Rue in particular.

Personal favourites include: The Gabriel Knight series (best thing Sierra ever did!), Grim Fandango, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Beneath a Steel Sky and The Last Express.

You may want to check out this list for inspiration:

I also find that this guy has pretty good taste (having played 15 of those listed).

Myst. It was one of my first PC games and to this day I don't think I've ever been as immersed in a video game as I was in that one. It has the perfect level of difficulty. Huge variety, excellent puzzles and a fantastic story.

It's sequel Riven is much, much harder, but still very good.

I know that sounds like a sales pitch, but it's one of my favourite games of all time.
