Don't wait for them to be advertised.
I know garden centers take on 16yo to deal with the christmas trees. It's alright if you don't mind being outside, might get a few tips

Most stores start advertising Christmas Temp roles in September, although I know Debenhams have already started adverting them already.
I know Boots, Next, McDonalds and all major supermarkets take on 16 year olds.

I've seen Boots and Debenhams so far, but you have to be pretty fast. I know all the vacancies at boots in my area were gone by October last year, and there was quite a lot of them. I also think some of the Christmas temp jobs are full time from the start of December, so they won't want sixteen year olds - but it's worth looking. :-)

I know Lush has started hiring for Xmas already - start asking retailers when they'll be hiring and get your CV/cover letter in asap.

October is the month that retail store start hiring for christmas jobs, I recommend handing out your CV (as well as checking online) to your local stores that you want to work in, in mid-september to early october. All the interview happen in october and it's basically first come first serve so you have to be pretty quick.

    Good luck!

The Entertainer toy shop have also started advertising. Does anyone know if Boux Avenue ever take on Christmas temps?
