Soooo my contract is up for upgrade atm it runs out in october but on vodafone you can upgrade from a few months before, I currently have a Blackberry 3G which miracle of miracles does still work after almost 2 years. However I want to upgrade to an Iphone.

Speaking to my dad he says I should wait till mid sept as rumours are abound that the new Iphone 5 will be about then, now I don't intend to get an Iphone 5 I'm not rolling in it but my dad is sure the Iphone 4 contract prices will drop by a little - and on a 24 month contract every little helps.

Now my BB does just about work its not perfect but I could on, however I'm desperate to trade it in and get rid of this c-pberry - so is it worth the wait will the price actually drop at all or should I just take the plunge and get the Iphone 4 now?

iphone 4 prices will definitely drop. you only have to wait a few weeks.

also get a sim only contract and buy the iphone 4 second hand from ebay/amazon. much, much better deal.

Prices will drop. I echo what didgeridoo says. If you calculate how much you spend from buying the phone upfront and going on a £10 a month sim only price plan (like giff gaff) it works out significantly cheaper than getting the phone on contract (especially an iphone which tends to have high mark ups)

Thanks I know I should hold out really I'm just the most impatient person ever and as soon as vodafone dangle that upgrade now in front of me I just wanna take it haha.

Mid-late October might be a safer bet, with the 4S being reduced to 4 prices and 4 being reduced to current 3GS prices (with the 3GS being discontinued)

im in the exact same situation to be honest... im just so eager to get rid of my blackberry! ive waited too long for this haha
