Germany has restrictions on the formation of it's armed forces and what it can be used for.

Switzerland is land locked so doesn't have an offshore navy.

Do some research!

Plenty of countries exist with no army at all, like Iceland, I think it'd be a good idea for us to downsize to a smaller privately owned army.
The Italian city states tried private militaries in the middle ages. They were... unreliable.

Also, don't the swiss rely on a militia/national service system? I'm sure I remember reading they all have to have a rifle and ammo in the house in case of a wild abominable snowman attack or something.
