The Student Room Group

Do unis care about where you studied A levels

Do they care if you studied them at a school sixth form? Or a sixth form college? Or an independent college?

Does it matter to them even if you would get the same grades in all?
No.
The general answer is no, but a formula is applied if the school is an under-performing one so that a student who is performing significantly above the norm for their school but less well than other candidates from a better performing school is not disadvantaged. There is a table for finding out if your school falls into this category, but I cannot remember what it's called, so maybe someone else on here can locate it.
A lad from a college near me got an interview at Cambridge. On where he took his A levels, the interviewer remarked: 'we've never had one of you before'. Make of that what you will.
