Bike for University

Need to bike for uni for 2nd year, does anyone have any recommendations of where to buy one or even specific bikes. Under £100 would be perfect.

ebay, Gumtree, car boot sales.

I've had bikes off both gumtree and ebay for ~£50 and ~£100 and both were immaculate and entirely fault-free.

Try Discount Cycles Direct, might be a little difficult for under £100, but the bikes are quite good for £150.
Or try Sports Direct, a tad mediocre but they sell for about £95
Halfords? Haven't looked lately however

Don't go for a carboot sale or ebay, they can be very dangerous and faulty.

If you know what to look for on a used bike to make sure it's safe and rideable (rusted drivetrain, knackered headset, functioning brakes, etc) then you can pick up some real bargains under £100 from Gumtree. It's also worth asking around to see if anyone has a bike they want rid of, a lot of perfectly serviceable bicycles are just gathering dust and getting in the way in people's garages.
