I am thinking of applying to Kings are one of my medical school choices. I am an international student so I think that makes it much much harder for me to enter Kings. Could you guys help me see if I stand a good chance at Kings.
Some of my friends had a predicted of 43 points and above with Ukcat scores of 700+ but were rejected outright even for interview, so I am very confused!

I have 43 points for the IB and 776 for HLs with 6 in Maths.
UKCAT Score is 805 avg, 660, 880, 800, 880 for the breakdown. SJT Band 2

Volunteer work: 2 months in a community initiative tutoring underprivileged kids in math and english, currently 2 months volunteering in a hospital in a sub-acute ward taking care of elderly patients who are at risk of falling at night, and a host of fund-raising initiatives and a trip to Vietnam to build a house to help a village.

Attachment work: 2 weeks in a private hospital shadowing a doctor specialising in gastro-enterology and 3 days shadowing another specialist in a public hospital in the same area.

Extra-curricular achievements: Achieved President's scout award given to by the president of singapore (equivalent to Queens scout award), Chief Commissioner's Award for scouts, attended one world scout jamboree. Got a certification in first aid by the Red Cross. Violin ABRSM grade 7. Duke of Edinburgh Award (Silver)

Academic Achievements: Not really much of the olympiad person but I was in MENSA when I was young if that counts

Please rate me and tell me if I stand a fighting chance for Kings. Thanks

you're fine
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let any new GKT (King's) medics know about some of the medical Freshers' Week events coming up. There's a whole fortnight of medic-specific events on the KCL MSA (Medical Student Association) website, plus the med school houses (GKT Houses) are running a Mums and Dads scheme with a welcome party on the Thursday evening.

If any medics have any specific questions for older students, there's a forum on the GKT houses website which is run by the Mums and Dads team.

Hopefully meet you all soon!

It's mainly a sliding scale with GCSEs/academics and UKCAT, so if you have a really good UKCAT, you can get away with less A*s basically and vice versa.
Would someone with 5A*s and 5As at GCSE and 710 in their ukcat stand a chance at Kings for Medicine? Thank you

Do you think someone will stand a good chance this year as everyone on TSR seems to have really high ukcat scores this year? Thank you
