Cardiff Medical School Applicants 2013

Does anyone know how Cardiff treat people with achieved A2 grades? For example AAA at A level, would that over ride GCSE scoring and achieve 27/27 for academics?

No, it wouldn't. At least, that's what I've been told :frown:

They would look your A Levels, though. I think they'd still look at your GCSEs.

You'd get extra points though depending on your gcse score.

So in effect does this mean that they look at GCSEs, but if you have your A levels, then either/which way you still get extra points?

Yeah what ^that guy said.
And yes, if your gcse score is low, they'll add points if you have A level grades.

At the moment the course is very traditional and contains no PBL. However, I assume the C21 project is going to bring PBL to Cardiff for 2013 entry, I should imagine the course will become an integrated course though rather than fully PBL.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I know C21 is being planned but will it be implemented before sept. 2013?

I never got asked about the curriculum that intensely at interview just a bit about C21. An overview would be good knowledge since you can then answer a potential question along the lines of what aspects of the Cardiff course did you like...

The topics taught should be the same at every medical school. It is the order and teaching methods that vary.

I'm first year at Cardiff btw
