OCR AS Physics C/W - Sensing

Hey, this is one of three courseworks we have only just got given as i think they wanted us to study all units before hand.

I wondering if anyone knows a suitable circuit as i keep finding one or thinking of one which i feel is too advanced as it turns my work into a huge electronics project, like one of my ideas was infrared sensing motion.

I need help thinking simple but not too simple

any ideas?

simple is the key!!

in my class we had things such as:

temperature of a beer cooler/aquarium
light sensing for a burglar alarm
fuel level gauges in cars
ans some other stuff like that

and even though that seems simple, my teacher allowed it, and he examines for the course!! (and i got an a doing the temperature in the aquarium!! woop! :biggrin:) so don't worry if its simple, just make sure you put all the physics in!!

it was a bit mean leaving it this late though!! :biggrin:

Yeah - simple is good. I did the level of water in a tank (for a rainfall guage) and the circuit was the most complicated in the class (potential divider and so on). Actuall sticking the more physical bits together was the hardest part.

i was told we had to have potential dividers!!! lol ah well! its done and gone...

hadn't thought about a rainfall gauge :biggrin: noone in my class did that!

Thanks for that, i'll keep it simple, i'll have to start it next week (doing my materials and data anaylsis at the momment)
