What I've noticed about threads started by anonymous posters
A lot of the time, people anonymously start threads and then proceed to describe their predicament in excruciating detail making it quite obvious who they are if you happen to know them in real life. To me it seems quite silly, this also goes for people that know who they are in real life by their username. Surely in situations like this the anonymous feature would be pointless?

    Anyone agree?

Exactly! Some of them are such bizarre situations that it's pretty likely if the other person involves is on TSR, they'll know.

My username is also my name, without the 8. You just gotta guess what 'JJ' stands for.

If I search google for my username, TSR posts come up. If I used the anon function, then the posts would not be linked to my username.

I do agree it is strange, but with 1,000,000+ members on here, chances are most people who read the post won't know who you are, or if you do post an in-depth problem maybe people in real life wouldn't know about it and therefore wouldn't know who you are.
