AS retakes

I aim to get into a decent University to study History, but am going to have to retake exams in order to get decent results. This means I will have to retake unit 2 of Law as well as both History modules alongside the A2 law module in January. I can't retake the year since I have already restarted year 12 due to illness, so have in effect already retaken the year despite not taking any exams the first time round (confusing sentence lol). I want advice from people who have been in a similar situation and succeed, preferable taking similar essay based subjects.


My AS results were
English Lit A
History D
Law D (but have an A grade in unit 1)
Music Tech D (dropped)
