IB Music Technology Composition

The criteria says that we cannot use 'pre-recorded' loops. Now do they mean things that I've played myself by me that I have subsequently 'looped' with a program, or solely samples that have come from other musicians? If they mean all loops of any description that knocks me out of the contest for music technology fair and square, but if I'm able to use my own sounds on loop I'd be rapt because frankly I'm far better at making music like that than with big clunky notation programs.
