People who got into top universities with the worst gradesHey i read loads of articles of people getting into top UNIS with ok grades,so i decided to make a thread so for people thinking that their dream of entering a top university is over because of their grades can get reassurance and still hope!!!. so post your AS and A2 grades and the university you got into and the degree.

The percentage of people who get in top unis with **** grades is so low that is not significant so using it to extrapolate in your wild pinky dreams is fictional to say the less. Nevertheless, it might happen that you become one of the lucky ones. But don't put your hopes in it.(Original post by rany345)

You can hear wonderful stories of people getting offers from top unis with horrible AS grades, but you can't actually get in with horrible grades; you need to turn yourself around.

Failed my first year of College entirely, restarted and got BDEU, then worked bloody hard in my A2 year and came out with A*AB.
Off to Manchester University in a few weeks for a science foundation degree, my offer was BBB -

i was senior wrangler at cambridge, but because i failed my key stage 1, i never matriculated for a phd. Felt like a unmitigated wooden spoon.

I got into Warwick with dodgy A level grades - I was on a gap year at the time as well, doing my second UCAS after having dropped out of a different university, so I already had my full A2s - and they still took me. Okay, they were all 'proper' pass grades, none of this Ds/Es/Us stuff, but still. A lot of it depends on the course you pick.(Original post by Tubsunlimited)
