The Student Room Group

What is moodle, what is it used for?

At university?
It's almost like a private social network, in that staff and students have accounts, and can share resources, announcements or post on forums.

Students are assigned to groups depending on what subject they're taking, which seminar class they're in, or other groups they've joined.

It's where tutors will upload lecture notes and essay advice sheets and things like that. Also may be where you find your lecture timetables but some unis have other places to do that.
We have it at sixth form. The teachers put all their powerpoints, work they've set and useful resources on there.

You can also see stuff like attendance and teacher reports on there.
It can't be put better than what Angel has said. You will come to love moodle though. It's so useful
My uni uses it to put lecture slides and other resources up, as well as information about our assignment due dates, timetables, exams, finance info and emails.
