45mins-1hour walking, 20-30min by bus depending on what time of day it is... during rush hour it can take an hour.
How much is the bus pass from Lupton to the main campus per month?

I was originally planning to go to Lupton but my Art Foundation tutor (who's son goes to leeds) urged me too look at the price difference between Devonshire and Lupton+bus passes.

I moved into Lupton 10 days ago. I got a 320 pound bus pass which covers the whole year. You can get a cheaper one that only covers you from town to lupton which was 99 for the first term but cheaper in the following terms. I only got the big pass so that I could get up to the playing fields with it. I would really reccomend a bus pass though, the walk is alright to Uni but I wouldn't want to have to walk it all winter when it gets cold/wet

Since when was Clarence Dock known as Liberty Dock? Anyway, I'm hoping to go to Leeds to study law in 2013, and I'm already looking at accommodation, quite early I guess :colone:, but I just can't wait to get out of my tiny box-room and actually have my own little personal space that actually has a desk.

I've been to Clarence Dock on multiple occasions and I absolutely adore it, I wouldn't mind living there in future. I'm considering to live there for the duration of my degree, but I'm not sure what other students have to say about it. I'm quite a shy, work-orientated person, so I don't want to end up in a place where there'll be constant parties & piss-ups... I would prefer a more quiet and mature environment. I have no clue about prices, but ~£100 p/w seems fair in my mind (is it?) - I prefer self-catered accommodation too.

Are there any students who have, or currently, reside at Clarence? I know of the distance to and from university, and I live in Leeds so I'm very familiar with the bus/walking routes and prices. Is it good value for money? Is there a decent atmosphere/community? What is the accommodation like? I know I said I prefer quiet, but a little social-interaction never hurt anyone , so what's Clarence like for that? Is there parking available? Do any of the rooms overlook river/main area (where Mumtaz is ) rather than the backroads and such?

Can't think of any more questions as of yet

When do we need to start applying for accommodation? (I'm *hopefully* going to be starting Sept. 13)...

£100 p/w?! I was there in 2008 and I paid £85 which was just about covered by my loan. Considering its distance from uni I wouldn't say it's fair seeing as most people would be paying for bus passes on top of that and longer taxi rides. Although it is good socially and the view can be very good if you're in a certain block, I was on the 5th floor of Block D and it looked over the river.

I was also looking at Central Village as a second option, but those prices are quite steep; ~£126 p/w.. now I don't know anything about student loans so I'm a little blind when it comes to the prices and stuff...

How did you find Clarence? What were the rooms like? I like quite a bit of desk/shelf space for storage and such, so there's room for things like a small computer/laptop, printer and other things such as a small TV, microwave etc...

I pay £80/w for a shared house in Leeds. You can definitely get cheaper than £100. If it's the en-suite which is the clincher, remember that you probably have shared a bathroom your entire life with your family.

It's the location, though. I really like Clarence Dock and think it'd be perfect, I've always fancied living there!

I probably will do if I can afford it, £100 p/w is fair for en-suite in one of the nicest places in Leeds (in my opinion).

I love the look of clarence dock, well liberty dock now, too! I'm not into crazy partying or anything, so the docks look pretty good with a little bar for socialising and everything.
And i don't mind the walk. Bit of fresh air never did anyone any harm!

Also been looking at The Tannery and James Baille Park. I really like The Tannery, £130 for a studio flat is really attractive
