Can someone aware me on how to get into powerlifting competitvely? Never really considered it and didnt think I'd be good enough untill reading this thread.


Not sure what exactly your question is?

Pick a federation: GBPF or BDFPA
Look on their website for how to join, to do it
Buy a singlet (check it and your belt is on the approved list if going for GBPF) and appropriate underwear (yes, really)
Check the website for a local meet, sign up
Go lift

Height: 5'6
Bench: 135kg
Currently working through SL 5x5 program.

Current stats are:

Bench: 62.5kg
Row: 60kg
Overhead Press: 40kg
Squat: 87.5kg
Deadlift: 85kg

All for 5x5 currently, I'm 78kg and 5 foot 10. Not sure how these stats are? Anyone able to comment on my progress so far?

absolute poverty tbh, Aren't so bad if your a complete beginner tho.

Wouldn't say complete beginner, but I've never trained seriously in the gym, but now I am. Some of the exercises I am still not struggling too bad on, so still go a little way to go yet. I'm just doing what the program tells me to do :smile:
A friend told me to put up his lifts as he don't have an account

When did you start and what were your lifts then? :smile:

For referance: 6ish months in the gym lifting 4-5 days a week= beginner,
180 for 3 deadlift
110 bench (but I've benched once in 6 months)
70kg OHP

I only started the program at the beginning of November!

I started on the recommended weights that was calculated by the program guidelines, so 50kg squat, 40kg bench, 40kg row, 20kg OHP and 50kg Dealifts.

thats a quality bench for 1 month tbh :wink:

65kg squat (ugh so weak)
30kg bench (cry)

I've lost so much strength lately it's disgusting but I just can't motivate myself in winter I just want to hibernate.
