AS Level Choices

Sorry to make another thread about this

For my A levels, I'm planning on taking:
French, History, English Literature and English Language

My predicted grades for these at GCSE are:
French A*
History A
English A*
English Lit A*

However, I think I'm more likely to get As in Eng Lang and Lit.

My question is, will having only As in Eng Lang and Lit at GCSE (pretending I've got As in them at A levels) hinder an application to study English at a top uni? How about History?

Thanks
B
Don't be so pessimistic! If you've been predicted A*s, have faith in yourself and aim for them  In any case, since ASs are so much harder than GCSEs, I would have thought getting As in them would make up for not getting A*s at GCSE. English and history are both really competitive courses though, so the number of A*s may well be a deciding factor at the top unis.

Spank your ASs and I think you'd be ok!
you're predicted A*s so you must be fairly brainy and english lit and lang are fairly easy. with english lang, there's barely anything you can revise and with english lit, as long as you've gotten high marks in coursework, there's a good chance you can get an A*
