Chinese students in the UK have a reputation as being slightly cliquey, and very hard-working. You get the odd racist, but nowhere near as bad as racism towards Asians and Blacks. Mostly they're just seen as very very intelligent and with great ambition.

Would it be weird for someone who is black to join the Chinese society? I'd like to experience the culture and the only way I can do that is by joining?

What do you think? I think I can learn one or two things from chinese people

Not really, many black people are interested in Chinese things/asian related things such as the food, language, anime. Hell, i probably know some black people who watch more anime than me and I have lots of black friends.

I joined the Chinese society at my uni today. Thank god the president and I are good friends I didn't even know he was the president! But anyways I'm happy I gathered the courage to join and not worry about the fear of rejection because of my skin color/being non- Chinese

I'm finally a member of the Chinese society exciting times ahead haha
