70% of divorces are initiated by women. Why are women so afraid of commitment?

Why is this??

It's also the case that women cheat more and with more partners than men. But men always get the bad reputation for that.

Woman cheats, man stays with her.
Man cheats, woman leaves.

Also, why are men less likely to divorce?
the typical woman can afford to be pickier than the typical man, it's just a fact.

Well, at certain times of the month female people are programmed to want to cheat with as many men as possible.

Also, many women can become easily sexually frustrated if their current partner ignores them.

Most of us are paranoid, believe in fairytales and like to make a dramaric exit.

Plus, the story sounds better when you're not the one getting dumped.

LOL.

Because before getting married, women focus too much on a fairytale wedding and living happily ever after. That exaggerates their expectations of marriage to unrealistic proportions, and therefore their subsequent disillusionment is commensurately greater.

Wasn't there some research once which gave a happiness scale along the following lines:

Happiest = married men
Then = unmarried women
Then = unmarried men
Unhappiest = married women
I don't know if this statistic is true, but it would make sense to me because women are more picky.

Richard Dawkins explains in detail in the selfish gene why that is probably the case.

Easy - women rarely make a decision based on logic and what is best for them. Instead they make a really stupid decision based around utterly retarded logic, ideas which any man could never conceive, and normally infantile emotions, which of course always ends up screwing them over.

So x amount of years into the marriage, they finally realise that the reason/s they chose their husband were all wrong and then go for a divorce and/or an affair.

At 18, sure, at 30, helllllll no.
Why? Because the men with the money and the ones who have not become fat/ugly get to decide everything.

Amen to that. Also to add to it, I remember reading an article which detailed how research had shown that women who watch a lot of rom-coms also developed impossible ideas and expectations about marriage and a relationship :facepalm2:

It isn't sexist when it is a fact. Either find a source of your own or learn to accept this.

It kind of seems like there's a lot of generalisation here, and lack of acknowledgment over the fact that women are all different. If you use "some/many women" that's fine, but saying "all women" isn't.

You mean the OP claims it's fact. If the Op really wants to make this claim, they should link a decent source. Not wikipedia.

It is amazing how so many women argue this point and claim to be "the one who is different", yet I and everyone I know has yet to meet them :giggle:
but alas, I am not making a generalisation, but really referring to the difference in the male and female brains and how men can make decisions in the left part of the brain (logic etc) without any interaction from the right, yet women struggle to do this.
