Exeter seems to have a ridiculous amount of clearing places available, even at this late stage, when most Universities are full.

Any idea why? Seems quite unusual.

I think because less people applied this year due to the tuition fee increase to £9k since a lot of people didn't want a huge debt at the end of uni.

I wouldn't worry too much. The clearing places are for students who performed well but didn't get into the uni they wanted. I don't think they'll be handing out places to BBB students if the requirement was AAB. I actually got my place through clearing and I had the exact grades they required. My first choice was way out on what I could ever achieve and I didn't like my insurance. It's not just Exeter, if you look on UCAS most unis still have clearing positions.

Thanks for the info, what were your original choices may I ask?

No problem. Nottingham was my first choice and I missed my offer by one grade (a couple of marks off an A). Leicester was my insurance and I decided to reject it because I didn't like the department.
