Is an IB 45 prediction a good thing?
I am applying to PPE at Oxford and I initially got a 44 prediction with a 6 in HL Maths and B in EE. However, my maths teacher has since offered to put the prediction up to a 7.
Do you think I should take it, or might it mean getting an offer with the condition of 7 in HL Maths or would they never do that?
Also, do you think a good solution would be to take the 7 in HL maths and put down something like French SL to a 6?
    Speedy advice would be appreciated!

They're not going to give you a 45 offer, that would be mad. They might request a 7 in maths, but I don't think your prediction would really affect whether they do so; the PPEists here are better qualified to say whether it's likely. There's no reason for you to deliberately reduce your prediction.

Oxford PPE is usually in the 38-40 range. I'd say a 45 prediction would raise eyebrows as it's so unusual and there is a habit in some schools of overestimatig IB predictions, which are not borne out in subsequent results.

Take it! Oxford offers above 40 are rare. You need all the competitiveness you can get. Also be prepared to shine in the interview since expectations will be high. I got a 45 prediction last year and got all 5 offers.

What subject was that for? Was the Oxford offer conditional?
