Clean install of OS X Mountain Lion on Macbook Pro

    Clean install of OS X Mountain Lion on Macbook Pro
    Hi guys,

    If I were to install an empty hard drive into the mid 2009 Macbook pro (15") and use a bootable OS X Mountain Lion USB. What it work? I have no experience with Macs or Macbooks or OSX so forgive me if the answer is obvious. The mid 2009 comes by default with Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard but without repair/install disks would it be viable to just use the OS X Mountain Lion USB?

    Hold down the option (alt) key while booting with the usb plugged in, and you will be able to select the usb drive to boot from.
