My teachers kept saying that I'm going to fail my A levels?
So, it was my first day at college today and I walked in all positive and then we all had this huge assembly and our teachers basically told us that our chances of passing were low and we should probably rethink our options. I feel really annoyed right now, but I was wondering if teachers do this to everyone or if my year is just an exception? lol

Dunno, but at the end of my English Lit AS my teacher told me she thought i had failed and was not welcome back in her class for the A2.
Got a B
Started A2's and she invited me back, nope.
That was a silly decision on my part, but it felt so damn good. -

I'm actually really annoyed about this because I'm so determined to do well and then my teacher just tells me I'm going to fail. like seriously?

Re: My teachers kept saying that I'm going to fail my A levels?
We started Year 12 with an assembly about all the people who didn't pay attention in Year 12, failed their exams and had to retake the year or drop out. Their plan was to scare us into working hard and paying attention. So yeah, I think it's fairly normal :P

Re: My teachers kept saying that I'm going to fail my A levels? It's probably something risky they say to try to motivate you to work hard! That is crazy though.(Original post by insomniacfreak)

Re: My teachers kept saying that I'm going to fail my A levels? So every single one of your teachers stood up in assembly and told your whole year and you were all going to fail...(Original post by insomniacfreak)

'Dear Year 12, This school has a really low pass-rate for exams. You should all re-think your options. You will fail because we're bad teachers."
That sounds frankly implausible!!Last edited by h-g-1; 12-09-2012 at 21:51. -

For some reason teachers seem to think that by using this 'Jedi Mind Trick' it encourages students and covers up the fact that the teacher is an absolute a-hole.
OP I was told constantly that I would fail my biology, that my coursework wasn't good enough, my practicals were crap etc, the teacher was also terrible who had no clue about what they were doing. I got an A in biology. My advice; don't listen to a word of it, focus on your studies and work hard, you can get the grades you want, I am not the sharpest tool and I still managed to get the grades I needed. Teachers can only help you so far in life. -
Re: My teachers kept saying that I'm going to fail my A levels?I had a similar experience! The one's that are apathetic remain so and the studious ones are concerned.(Original post by NinjaNerdfighter)
