I'm thinking of taking a gap year...
I under performed in my ASs. I got the following:
    A- History
    B- Chemistry
    C- Economics
    D- Philosophy
I dropped the B as i was seriously struggling with chemistry and i knew i would fail it if i continued to A2. However, I want to take history and politics as a degree and I'm thinking of taking a gap year. Its quite evident my grades aren't great so I'm hoping to turn the tables round this year and apply for a really good uni after. My question is that if you retake quite a few AS modules, would the universities be able to see it even though by the time I apply I would have already had my A level results?

If your resits are within the 2 years, and you're applying with achieved grades then you should be fine they don't really mind if it's during year 12 or 13
just aim for top grades this year, and your gap year/application process will be much more bearable
