This is the error:

Unable to load the web page because the server sent no data.
Here are some suggestions:- Reload this web page later.
Error 324 (net:: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data. -
Re: TSR not loading quickly?
Sometimes, TSR loads to just a blank page with just the TSR logo in the top left-hand corner, and the bar in the top-right, but that alone. Other times, the page goes black, and refreshing it seems to only do any good every four or five refreshes. If the page does load, often when scrolling there are black lines across the page. Sometimes when this occurs, if I move my mouse across the black areas, the buttons and such will appear, but not the actual posts written. I've only just joined TSR, but this is doing my head in already!!!

Re: TSR not loading quickly?
If anyone is experiencing these problems repeatedly and is willing for us to do a remote support session so we can remote onto your machine and experience it ourselves, and run some diagnostics, then we'd be very grateful. Amazon vouchers in it for you if that makes it all worthwhile

Please PM Dez or me, or email support@thestudentroom.co.uk if you can help. -
Re: TSR not loading quickly?
Google Chrome fails to load every link I click on the student room. It started two weeks ago I think. Every single time, and I've made sure it's not just my connection and pc. It's an issue with the site unfortunately. I have to wait at least 15 seconds before I can click refresh and the page loads....

Re: TSR not loading quickly?
For the past week or so, the first time I bring up a page it freezes. Seems to happen as I start scrolling down, but this may be a coincidence. I have to crash it in Task Manager, then go back into IE (this is under Win XP Pro btw), taking the restore last session option, and then it's OK for a while. Happens on my laptop at many different locations, so not ISP prob. Doesn't happen on any other website so not PC prob.

Re: TSR not loading quickly?
Hi
I have serious problems loading TSR! About 3/4 of the times I try to load a page, it fails. Firefox gives me this error:
The connection has timed out
The server at www.thestudentroom.co.uk is taking too long to respond.
It doesn't work any better on internet explorer either.
My ISP is TalkTalk. According to the site http://www.12free.co.uk/who-is-my-isp.php, my exact ISP is:
dynamic.dsl.as9105.com
I had exactly the same problem last time I tried to use TSR, which was about 3 months ago.
Good luck fixing it!

I have reported this issue for months and to be honest the conclusion i came to was either site admins where either ignoring me or burying their head in the sand over it.
Here are some facts about it
a) it occurs in all browsers and I do mean all, tested it
b) it also occurs on my android phone so not operating system related
c) happens on ubuntu , xp, vista, win 7 and win 8
d) More than enough users have issues, to say that problem is at your end
e) it is normaly is fixed with one or more F5 presses
f) it also occurs when posting reponses to posts
g) It seemed to start occuring a site upgrade u did about 4mths ago, ps thee lastest upgrade has made no differance
h) i dont see what giving you a remote desktop access will achieve apart from proving to you what we all can see
I believe that these issues have been driving users away from the site having noticed a marked fall in the numbers of posts etc.
My first guess would be say that it is db related as it seems to hang waiting for answers, but without admin access to your server etc i can say no moreLast edited by Harveys; 16-09-2012 at 08:49.
