Is every night during Freshers' themed?
I'm wondering how much I'll need to spend on outfits lol
Not every night - it varies year by year and hall by hall but last year we had t-shirt party (t-shirt provided), geek night (glasses provided) and pub golf.
There are three fancy dress shops very close to each other in the Arndale Centre (get the bus to Piccadilly Gardens + 2 min walk). One is called Luvyababes and the others have names that I can't remember!

Afflecks palace is good for fancy dress too!
I would say that you don't need too many costumes (you can always tell the people that make too much effort).
go for cheap and cheerful (Primark is your best friend).
Cardboard boxes, tinfoil and anything you can get your hands on will be really useful!
