    Mensa and UCAS???
I am a member of Mensa. I'm thinking about whether I should include this on my list of other qualifications on the UCAS form. It is certificated, and I qualified for and obtained the membership last year sometime, so it is all in the right timeframe for qualification. I'm unsure though about including it.

It shows you're incredibly capable mentally, you'd be nuts not too

Include it if you want to show it off but it won't make any difference to your application.

I wouldn't be as impressed by it as a lot of other EC things, but it's unlikely to hurt.

To act smart It hardly means much - I bet about 1% of Cambridge students are in Mensa, yet they are normally incredibly intelligent (most likely, many of them well exceed the IQ score to get into Mensa).

    Also, IQ tests are crap.

Yeah, that's the impression I got from it... :awesome: Ah well, I'm sure us mere mortals can cope well enough without it!

Mere mortals? Pff My uncle used to be Mensa, and although he's definitely very intelligent, he's no more intelligent than other very intelligent yet non-Mensa people I know.

Anyone who is even remotely intelligent would not waste twenty quid on an IQ test. How ironic

Why not? I just mentioned it on my PS. It's definitely not going to make you look bad ...

You might as well put it in if you have one, if it's something that you are proud of then why not and it'll definitely show admissions tutors that you have the mental capability for a university course

i think the real test is to see who's dumb enough to waste 17.50 on something so useless

I didn't put it on mine last year and I won't put it on this year.

I don't do anything with Mensa; I got in when I was in Yr11 and the school paid for my test. Since then, all I've done is receive their newsletters and normally shred them because the writers are up their own backsides a lot of the time.
I would have included it if I was perhaps really involved in the organisation.. but I let my grades do the talking.

The smart man mooches 17.50 from others...
Which leads me to ask, can I borrow 17.50 from you?

You should cancel the newsletters, less effort to you, them etc

I'm not sure how to cancel it as the school pays and I've left now.. but still get them. & it probably makes Mensa feel better about themselves as it looks like more people are interested in their b*llocks

    Mensa and UCAS???
1 in 50 people qualify for Mensa (top 2%) but far less actually apply. When you look at it that way it looks less impressive.
