alias could not be opened because original item cannot be found
I bought a macbook pro in July.
I get the message in the title whenever I try to open files shown in finder's 'All my Files', these files have all previously been sent to trash and removed.
They all have blank icons.
I was hoping somebody could offer a solution. I'd like to go to a mac store, but some of these files were...of a private nature so it might be a bit embarrassing.

Can you not just delete it? See here, scroll to near bottom:
