    Political Compass - NEW 2012
NOTE: The results of these tests should not be taken too seriously. A political test cannot accurately reflect the complexity of a persons political opinions and these tests are for fun only.

Now that I have returned to the house I would like to start doing the political compass analysis again. I plan to do new analysis every 6 months or so.

For the October 2012 analysis I will be analysing results from the political compass, political test and political spectrum tests. As such I need all three results from people so results can be compared.

    How to be included

Take the political compass, political test and political spectrum tests and give me the results, either by private message (if you wish for your results to be anonymous) or by posting them in this thread.

    Be sure to include:

    political compass
    Economic value
    Social value

    political spectrum
    right/left value
    Libertarian/authoritarian value
    Foreign policy value
    Culture value

    political test
The bar chart is the part I need.

    Example (my results)

    Political compass:
    Economic: -7.25
    Social: -6.92

    Political spectrum:
    Left: 6.63
    Libertarian: 2.17
    Foreign: -6.21
    Culture: -8.09

    Political test:

Which tool should we use to determine our position?

Both the political compass and the political spectrum tests, but I'm waiting for a link to the latter. Before I just did the compass, but I think it will be interesting to do both of them this time. For that to work though I do need both results from people, not just one result.

Thanks for the information and the willingness to process the results, it is very interesting. I am going to do the first one and shall do the second as soon as you post the hyperlink here.

EDIT: These are my values from the political compass and the political spectrum. Political Test (the one with the weird 3D graph) is more for fun than anything else - though I think it's a lot more accurate than either of these tests.

    Political Compass:
    Economic Value: 6.00
    Social Value: 6.12

    Political Spectrum:
    Left: 6.72
Libertarian 1.86 (kind of strange when compared to the political compass results)
    Foreign Policy: -9.47 (non-interventionist)
    Cultural Value: -8.27 (cultural liberal)

    No surprise there.

You are a Social Democrat. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 16 percent are more extremist than you.

I am for welfare, healthcare and education. I am just against EU membership fees, foreign aid and trains. None of these were questioned in the test.

I'm not doing a third test as well, doing two is going to be hard enough and graphically representing and analysing a 3D result is more work than I intend to undertake tbh.

Edit: I don't mind if people would rather I analysed the bar graph result as well as the compass instead of the spectrum test though.

Huh? The bar graph is from the same test as the spectrum. Just leave out the weird 3D shape thingy.

I don't like the one that has the Greens as Libertarians, I mean, do they know Green party policies?

Not really. I'd expect all the Libertarians to post high scores in the "Capitalism" category.

Ah, I see. Thinking about it though I'll do spectrum and compass as originally planned this time as the results are directly comparable.

I plan to do new analysis every 6 months though, so I'll keep that test in mind for a future analysis. For now though the results from that test won't be included.

As a note to those saying the tests are inaccurate, I don't think any test can accurately reflect political beliefs. Political opinions are just too complex for that. These tests are for fun and interest only, as I've pointed out at the beginning of every analysis.
