Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos?
Why don't we just extradite journalists, editors and photographers responsible for the pictures. They may well have broken British law, Public Order Act at the least or you could argue it's Incitement or Sedition/Endangering State Security or if you had to charge them under the Terrorism Act.
Most of our extradition treaties with the countries concentrating don't even require us to prove a case to the country concerned just request the extradition and they've to fulfill it. Get them here and remand them to Belmarsh Prison straight away.
Justice must be served. William represents the Queen at times who represents the UK which means these pictures are disrespectful to Britain. They only appear in the media on official duties, they don't flaunt their private life all over it and so are entitled to not be harassed.Last edited by Iso Herrk; 15-09-2012 at 17:25. -
Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos?
There are so many journalists living in exile because they would be arrested if they went back to their original countries. My father was one of them for a while - he risked being arrested and tortured. What an absolutely terrible idea to extend extradition to journalism, risking limiting freedom of press even further.
EDIT: I take it people support like Turkey that imprison their journalists for opposing the government. Wouldn't it be ****ing great if the UK followed suit by requesting that journalists from other countries are put on trial over here? The UK would officially become one of the worst countries for freedom of press, and many countries would be forced to sever relations with the UK.Last edited by und; 15-09-2012 at 21:24. -
Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos?
They are already suing the magazine through the French courts and please endangering state security? are the taliban going to build a teet seeking missile?
It's a woman sunbathing with her top off, frankly the most distressing thing about this whole pantomime is that the story has been on the front pages of news papers for 3 days.Last edited by Darth Stewie; 15-09-2012 at 17:39. -
Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos? You don't understand. The Royals are just constitutional. Remember?(Original post by Iso Herrk)

How do Kate Middleton's boobs endanger state security, exactly? -

Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos?
If it's not a crime in France then there really aren't any grounds to extradite them. But the terrorism act? For a photo of some boobs.... She's in the royal family but it would be completely ridiculous to argue that this is somehow putting Britain at risk. This is a breach of privacy, which is a huge shame but few complain (at least this much) when it happens to other celebrities. Sure they can go and sue whoever's responsible, as it shouldn't be allowed to take unauthorised pictures of people in private property, but the fact that she's married into a well known genes shouldn't change anything.

Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos? If we're not careful the next thing you know everything has gone tits up. And then we'd be busted.(Original post by alexmagpie)
I suppose you're right, we can't let these things rack up.
OP, you're being a melon. People publishing pictures of breasts are not terrorists. I don't agree with what they did, but as far as I'm aware they did nothing wrong under French law so there's nothing we can do. So can it. -
Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos? You're so right, got to nip these things in the bud. At least in a few weeks it'll all just be a mammary.(Original post by RedDevilThing)

Re: Can we extradite those responsible for the Kate topless photos?
This whole topless photo thing has gone completely tits up. Wow, she was bathing topless, maybe she did think it was in private but she should have expected a chance to be seen like that considering her high profile.
...
Edit: Aw, damn. Beaten to the pun. Erm... Don't know how longer the papers are going to milk this story for.
