Macklemore. do you know him ?One of the most amazing rappers I have ever listened to, I class him with eminem and tupac, he's a poet, who doesn't rap about pussy money weed. etc
He works with a producer called ryan lewis and the background music to his songs is always brilliant.
I recommend this song. He writes about the rise of codeine cough syrup in the hip-hop world, aswell as his personal struggle with the drug. Yhere are 2 versions of the song

If you really wanna see the emotion check out the live on the KEXP radio. I swear it gave me shivers and brought a tear to my eye.
What I like about him is the fact that he writes about unconventional subjects, criticising consumerism [ in wings and the thrift shop], drug abuse, the fakeness of hip-hop artists today. He even makes amusing songs like 'and we danced'
The video clips are pretty awesome, but if you really wanna see the emotion in his songs check out the live versions on kexp radio.

My favourite songs from him are hold your head up as well as otherside.
If you like him, you may also like Geo from Blue scholars, RA Scion from common market, murs, J Live (listen to the song undivided attention), P.O.S., Rashaan Ahmad, Classified and Grieves (the whole Together/Apart album is fantastic) -
