    Matura - UCAS form
    Hello everybody,
I am about to fill out my UCAS application and I really have no idea how to fill out the education section since I’m not familiar with the British education system.
I added my school and then chose Austrian Matura (similar to the German Abitur) as a qualification. At first, I thought I had to add each subject (5) as a module but when I looked at the reference section, the UCAS form only showed one pending grade (Matura). Does this mean I have to add each subject as an individual qualification? If so what do I fill out as a module? What exactly is a module?
Also, in German (compulsory) I will take one written exam. In Physics one oral exam. In Chemistry one oral exam with an additional question from the voluntary subject Biochemistry. In Mathematics and English I will take a written and an oral exam. For each oral exam I have to write something called “Spezialgebiet”, which is approximately 20 pages, about something that was not covered by the lessons. Can I add this to my UCAS form? Would Spezialgebiet, Biochemistry and the different exams (oral and written) be a module?
There is no such thing as a GCSE in Austria but we do get a report card (“Jahreszeugnis”) at the end of each year. Should I add all my grades from year 11 or only the subject/Matura relevant (I want to study chemistry). Do I also have to add the ones of year 10? I had really bad grades that year and would prefer not to have anyone know them. Again, each subject as an individual qualification or as a module? Do I have to/can I add any tests too?
I would really appreciate your help. Any information you could give me would be really great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

Hi! I live in Sweden, but I was in a similar situation as you.

I studied Fullständigt Slutbetyg från Gymnasieskola, I had to add each subject as a module.

I think you have to fill in each subject from the year you began taking the Matura.

You probably need to fill in each subject, not only the relevant ones.

i entered the Gymnasium 8 years ago, but the questions at the matura consist of what we did in the last 4 years (year 8-12).

Yeah, you need to take every subject/module from those 4 years.

How many more subject will you study?

When do you get grade in those? You need to put those as 'pending' if you don't get your grades before your application.

In conclusion, put every graded subject you have from year 8, and those you will study as 'pending'.

If you leave out information, UCAS has the right to withdraw your application I think.

You can write to the universities you're applying to, but I think your reference-writer will say a few things about them.

    Thank you!
    You're welcome!

But to be on the safe side, you might want to ask someone from Austria and has applied through UCAS, just in case.

I think the general agreement is that you should include the five subjects you'll do the Matura in. And it's true that your teacher will only have one box for predicted grades because you enter your subjects as modules, but there's always the reference to include the separate grades whilst giving an 'overall grade' in that box.
(I also did the Matura, though not the Austrian one. )

    Good luck!
