i wasnt sure if a thread had been created on this. i read this story with absolute disgust and horror! she didnt like the fact she had sex with them on a night out (entirely her actions so she should take responsibility for what she did) so she thought she would be a slimy, back-stabbing, evil little **** and cry rape. her plans backfired. how has she not got an equal sentence that the men would get if they were found guilty of rape? she should get at least 10 years in jail, if not longer.

too many women in society abuse their equal rights whether that be paying for a date, refusing to do any initiating with a guy, gaining an advantage just because they are a woman, or falsely claiming rape. she should be treated the same as a man who raped and be given a very long prison sentence. hopefully that will make other women think twice about falsely claiming rape.

They do it because it's harder for the man/men to disprove, it's the only crime that's "guilty until proven innocent, and then if you're innocent, we think you did it anyway".

The whole thing is probably weighted 90%:10% in favour of the woman.

Until an example is made of it, it'll keep happening.

how would a man prove he didnt do it? i feel very sorry for any man who gets falsely accused. the law needs to be changed.

Exactly. It's one word against another, and as I said they'd probably side with the woman 90% of the time. Most of it is down to prejudice and trial by media.

Sorry but both of you are wrong. Only a fraction of rape cases actually result in a conviction because of precisely that. If a woman claims rape, then without further evidence, it cannot be established beyond reasonable doubt. The problem lies with the media and individuals perceptions, not the judicial system. We automatically presume that if someone is going to court for rape, then they probably did it - but courts won't allow the conviction to stand on that basis alone.

There can be no justification for what she did - it is a very serious thing indeed to accuse innocent men of rape. But is she really "evil" ? Sounds more to me like she could be just a mixed-up woman with low self-esteem, and shaky moral values. Society provides no moral guidance these days, and I suspect a lot of women drink too much and get involved in kinds of sexual activity which they are emotionally unable to deal with.

The Romans had this concept called 'Calumnia' concerning false accusations where a person who falsely accuses another would receive the same punishment as the other would have. I don't think these men would have got 2 years for rape.

Edit: What I meant by that was that we now believe that sentences should be rehabilitation orientated, not for retribution.

These situations show two really important things.

1. The current rape laws leave men (and women tbh) grossly open to abuse (either through false charges or actual rape)

2. The definition of rape needs to be clarified for all. Once everyone knows as precisely as possible what does and does not constitute rape then the tricky situations that constantly seem to surround the issues will be reduced in number.

We all feel for the falsely accused and the victims of abuse. Something needs to be done to protect both parties. At the moment it is seen as dangerous territory that no politician wants to touch because of opposing women's and men's rights groups.

i just find it odd how according the the law a woman can't rape anyone.

and no that woman isn't abusing their equal rights that woman is taking advantage of the benefit of the doubt and her advantage in court

lol many men dont even get ten years for rape.

I agree what she did is pretty ****ing awful and she should be sent to prison for it as should any woman, but right now im more concerned with the fact only 7% of rapists are actually getting convicted.
