Are there any courses for Baking?

I'm thinking of starting my own bakery and would like to know whether there are are relevant courses that will help me. If not, could I go straight into it?

I'm completing my a-levels this year and am not planning on going to university.
I'd say my baking skills are quite high.

Thank you

Business course would be more suitable for your ambitions or raise some cash and start up your own bakery if you know the ins and outs of how to run a business.

But whatever you do DO NOT do a baking course at university if you want to start your own bakery...
Get an apprenticeship at a Bakery.

There is no point getting business skills if you cant actually cook in an industrial style kitchen. And no bank will lend you any money without any proof that you have the training.

Here are some examples :

http://www2.sainsburys.co.uk/aboutus/recruitment/Store+Roles+channel/The+Store+roles/Apprenticeships.htm
why would it not be a good idea to not do a baking course at university if i want to start my own bakery??
Because you'd be better off either an Apprenticeship (www.notgoingtounu.com) or looking at courses below degree level (http://www.whatuni.com/degrees/courses/hnd-hnc-courses/cooking-hnd-hnc-courses-united-kingdom/cooking/n/united+kingdom/united+kingdom/25/0/0/0/r/0/1/0/uc/0/0/page.html).

You need skills and work experience before anyone will lend you the money to start your own enterprise - and 'Baking' isn't a subject offered at universities.

super late reply so hope life worked out for you but it is actually because I'm studying it at National Bakery School at London South Bank University- it's a degree in baking science and technology (the management optional modules would have been great for you)
Hi, I’m interested in studying there. I was wondering,is there a lot of oral presentations you have to do in ur course? And if so are they in front of ur lecturer or the whole class? it’s just I have major anxiety over presentations and it would be helpful to know so I can prepare myself
