Well and truly confused now! Is the m/s right?

I don't even know :frown:

I'd probably lose those two marks in the exam :erm:

This is annoying... I want to know now... If it has one real root...

If k > 27 the whole curve will be under the x axis apart from one intersection... As with k < -5 I think... :/

Thank you! You too! :eek4:

Can anyone explain how to do this?
show that 2/square root of 12 - square root of 8
can be written in the form sqaure root of A + square root of B where A and B are integers

Rationalise the first term my multiplying by Root12.

Simplify Root8 = Root4*Root2= 2Root2

2Root12/12 - 2Root2
Root12/6 - 2Root2

Which paper?

it was fine... I think, I was getting nowhere with the surds and geometry then realised I wrote down the wrong signs so after that it was fine...

Hopefully a good mark!

You?
I struggled with the K questions but asides from that I found it easy enough. Unless I'd made lots of stupid mistakes...

I thought that was super hard, the hardest among all the past papers I've donee

hmmm...

Shall I post some answers I had... If I remember correctly...

Spoiler

Which reminds me, I forgot to square the whole of (4x) so I got 5/4 on the binomial expansion which frustrated me. I'm sure I'll still get some marks for it though.

You should  I got 5
for k I remember I got 2/3! But I messed up 1b. which I'm gutted about! :frown: And I couldn't do the binomial expansion question AT ALL. Overall it was meh, so so. I think I dropped around 12 marks, so I'm hoping an overall 63/75 should be enough to get around a UMS of 85

I got 2/3 as well  what was b again?

1b. Was proving that L and AB were perpendicular. I didn't think about converting it to y=mx+c then working from there! So gutted about it. We were allowed to bring the paper itself so I'm going back through it now, practically torturing myself.

I turned L into y = mx + c and said the product was -1

Yeah that's what it was supposed to be :/
