    National Insurance Number!
    Hi everyone!

I'm 18 in December and have never received a National Insurance card/number. Do they take ages to arrive? I need to apply to university - can I without this number?

My first one. They never sent me one so it's two years late! I'm just worrying it'll take ages for one to come through?

Shouldn't take to long, I think maybe 3weeks is the norm

I got mine automatically a few weeks after my 16th birthday, but my brother is 17 in November and hasn't received his yet, let them know you've not got yours yet and they'll send you a form to fill in.

If you go down to the job centre with ID, they can give it to you. They'll also give you the form to fill in to get the card.
