i watched a program about muslim burials and didn't know they couldnt be cremated...so i was thinking, for like my country UK, surely space will run out for them to be buried at some time in the future?

In really crowded muslim places (e.g. Mecca) they rebury the dead in the same place after 6 months.

But in other areas they just transform graveyards into public parks

So maybe the thread should be about how many people we can bury, including Muslims and Christians, before we run out of space?

why would they bother to dig up and then rebury the same body in the same place? are grave diggers that bored?

well i mean if you decide you want to be buried and i say ok mate wink wink, and then cremate you no harm done. but for religions like islam its sacraligious innit?

Burial rights in this country last 100 years, but not everyone in this country wants to be buried i.e cremation, woodland burials etc.

Wait I'm confused...doesn't practically everyone (non-muslim) in this country get buried, so surely the question should be how many people we can bury, as Muslim's only make up 3% of the population..?

Hindus, Sikhs and Bhuddists cremate bodies, as they believe body serves no purpose ( excluding organ donation) after the soul has left it. so yh not everyone (non-muslims) practices burial of a dead body.

they did say "practically everyone" not everyone and "in this country" where Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists make up a tiny portion of the population so I still think the point stands..

This. Why does it make a difference? Lots of people choose not to be cremated/can't be cremated.

Or where you after the maths?
