Re: Evidence people hate short menFirstly, many secure women like rough sex. And I like rougher sex as well. Sexually confident women are into that kind of thing.(Original post by Xhotas)
This doesn't get you laid though. Unless you find an incredibly insecure woman who likes it rough.
Secondly, women like men who can stand up for themselves and not to behave like little bitches around women desperately trying to earn their approval. A guy who says "**** you, you are a piece of ****" is much sexier than "ohhh please love me, I will do anything for your approval". -
Re: Evidence people hate short menyoure alright buddy(Original post by godblessyousir)
I'm 5'9, is this an acceptable height -

Yes, they also like a man who can laugh at themselves and make them laugh. Making them laugh is not "oh I love you I'll do anything for your approval" unless you really are trying too hard to be alpha male. Obviously I'm not saying arse lick to no end but if you can make them laugh it's just as effective as being a ****. The easiest way into a womans knickers is to make them laugh.
But if a short guy said to a girl "**** you, you're a piece of ****" or anything along that lines they'd probably call him a grumpy midget and move on. If you're tall and give off that appearance, sure it's probably going to work but we're on the subject of shorter guys. You'd just be labelled as having short man syndrome and that **** ain't attractive. -
Re: Evidence people hate short menI didn't find it funny but sad and upsetting that people are so casually cruel. I would never date any one under 5ft 10 but that doesn't mean I hate short men. Given the discrimination against them I think part of the reason women don't want to date someone short is they wouldn't want to have short sons who would suffer that discrimination. Don't worry though guys women tend to be mercenary and a short rich guy will get more offers than a tall loser.(Original post by Michaelj)
Perhaps it was one of the people from twitter? I don't really know tbh.I didn't mean to offend anyone and newsflash I'm one of the shortest men people actually know. I just wanted to share the link because it seemed funny to me and perhaps and opportunity for a chat. -
Re: Evidence people hate short menand how tall are you? And to say short guys only have a chance of rich? Um look around.(Original post by Archers fan)

Re: Evidence people hate short men
In the interests of science I have analysed the Two's Company page in this week's Wirral Globe.
Of the 38 'females seeking males' personal adds, only 2 of those females request a tall male. This gives a Heightism rate of 5%.
Conclusion from the study: either the incidence of Heightism is small; or, OP should do his dating on the Wirral. -
Re: Evidence people hate short menAm I the only girl here that prefers short people? Why would I ignore people my heighg for someone a foot taller, a serious inconvenience?(Original post by Xhotas)
Women are not usually initially attracted to short guys. It's just common knowledge. However it doesn't mean you can't be considered attractive, it's just not ideal for women who go out in heels with a man who's shorter than them, it just doesn't look right.
That's not to say all women won't go for short guys. My best friend is 5 foot 5 and he's literally a pint-sized player. He has no issue with getting with ladies regardless of their height because he is confident and attractive. He works out, has a good personality and has the confidence to approach women. However I still put this down to him having an even more attractive, tall, skinny, confident wing man
None the less, height will nearly always be considered a more attractive trait in a man. It's not a defining factor though. Women exaggerate on twitter, some are just shallow. If you're short and have confidence to laugh if a girl makes a short joke, laugh with them and show you're a good sport. It makes for easier conversation and makes you seem more confident about yourself and therefore more attractive. One of my best pick up lines at uni was "Do you fancy a threeway with me and a midget?" Although the 3way never happened, still made the ladies laugh and has worked in getting both of us some action. Seriously, it's an amazing line.

Re: Evidence people hate short menLaughing at yourself tends to be something needy desperate people do to fit in. Responding with, don't do that it is rude, is something a confident dominant person does. There is a big difference between getting all angry/upset and putting somebody down in a classy way.(Original post by Xhotas)

And humour is massively overrated for being sexy. Women just laugh along with men they are attracted to, rather than being attracted to people who make them laugh. -
Re: Evidence people hate short men
I think being able to take banter is a must and most certainly not "needy and desperate", saying "that was rude" is just a polite way of saying you're offended, please stop. What if they don't? I agree with not biting and being agressive though.
If women laugh along with you and lime you for it, I must be a hit with the ladies... I still think I have a charm though. I try to compensate for ways outside of my height and it works. I would say if you're genuine funny then it can work but try hards just make me cringe.Last edited by Michaelj; 28-09-2012 at 21:51. -
Re: Evidence people hate short men
I'll probably get negged for this, but in a way you can equate "heightism" to racism and sexism. Because, just like gender and ethnicity, you cannot do anything about it (in most cases) and thus to criticise somebody based on height is idiotic.
If I say, it's stupid to criticise someone based on their genetics I'm sure most would agree, but the term genetics could be replaced with either height, ethnicity or gender as ultimately it decides all three.
I'm male and around 5 ft 8. I hate it, but you know what, what can I do? My dad is 5 ft 7 and both my granddads 5 ft 6. At the end of the day, you can't train height. -
Re: Evidence people hate short menDepends on the type of "banter".(Original post by Michaelj)

If it is to do with something out of your control, such a hair colour (wtf is up with gingers having to deal with so much ****), race, height, being ugly, penis size, boobs. Then no, it is ****ing rude in my opinion and people should not have to deal with it.
If it is to do with something in your control, like the sports you play, the clothes you wear, the jokes you tell, then yes, I think that is fair game for banter.
Passing off insulting and rude behavior as "banter" sickens me. -
Re: Evidence people hate short menUnless the person meant offense it isn't an insult. Problem is that people nowadays are really easily offended... I used to be too but I laughed at the video whilst realising it is an insult. Mind you my group of friends likes banter but we also know the limit and when to stfu. Some people don't but that's when you give them a taste of their own medicine. You'll find mostly these people can give it but can't take it... The insults you mentioned wouldn't really offend me tbh but each to there own. I'm careful with what I say also, if someone takes offense I apolegize but if they whine and whine, I gotta tell them to chill out. Peace.(Original post by Classical Liberal)
