Need some advice in looking for a degree

Apologies if this is in the wrong area.

I'm currently living in the UK. I decided to take a year out between college and university to get a sense of direction and to figure out where I wanted to see myself in 10 years.

After looking at my interests, I would love to pursue a career in video editing, but I have absolutely no idea where to start to put it bluntly. I'm an avid gamer and one day I picked up some recording gear for it. I really fell in love with editing and tinkering around with Sony Vegas Pro 10, I knocked up around 20 or so YouTube videos that I feel were well edited. A lot of people praised my work, and I loved making them. It was like an addiction to me, and I feel that I was very efficient at putting them together both quickly and at high quality. Then I decided to make a full 20 minute video for somebody as a bit of fun, just sketches more than anything, all edited all the way through.

Anyway, and more to the point (so you guys don't fall asleep at my life story lol), I was wondering what degrees are available that would help with this. I've searched Google and that's about it, I just don't have a clue where to look. I really should have thought about this when I was in college so I had the career support.

I got ABB in my A-levels (A in IT, B in Business Studies and B in Film Studies) along with an AS in Critical Thinking (C grade). The only thing that I can find was a post graduate degree that was extremely relevant at Bournemouth University. But obviously, I can't apply for that without an undergraduate degree. So, does anybody have any advice/tips etc? I wasn't necessarily aiming for that specific post graduate degree with something to fill the gap, I'm just searching for ideas.

I'm not that interested in editing films etc as it would just be delusional to try to aim for something as ludicrous as that, more like TV adverts and possibly TV programmes etc. Does anybody know of ANY relevant degrees? Would it be better to go with something like IT? Media? Or are there any specific courses? Would it be better to not go to university perhaps?

Any, and I mean any, help would be appreciated massively. Thanks!
Something maybe in the Media part? It depends really. Sony Vegas and editing/programming is more Computer Science, where as Media is the generalization of ads, like you said. Maybe you could do a combination of both? See if you can do Media and Computing/Computer Science as a Joint Hons Degree. You'll have to look at the Uni's you're interested in.
