SO CONFUSED ABOUT OSMOSIS help!

So if the definition of omsosis is the movement of water from an area of high cells.7.gifconcentration to a low concentartion the why is this shown on revision sites:

Osmosis isn't really just the movement of a higher concentration to another. It is more dependent on the concentration of the solute. Water will move to areas with higher solute concentration. The reason why water is moving right as the solute is more concentrated on the right than on the left.

A more clear definition would be the movement of water molecules from a lower concentration solution to a higher concentration solution.

Hope that helps - I'm surprised I can remember all of this from A-level (4 years ago!)
