Brighton Primary PGCE
Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone at Brighton Uni doing a PGCE Primary (5-11 years would be able to help me. I'm looking at starting Sept 2013
I know there are two campus locations, one at Falmer and one at Hastings, however I am within commutable distance (about 40 mins by train) of Hastings and was going to apply for that location, thinking that all lectures would be there and I was also told my placements could be located very near to where I actually live.
I was originally told that two weeks ago, however I phoned up today and was told that people on the hastings course now attend some lectures in Falmer (I think one location per semester?). If this is the case for me I would have to commute for two hours to Falmer so I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there doing the course this year who is in a similar situation to me and if so how you manage?
If not would you guys just recommend I move to Falmer and then commute to Hastings when need be? Or should I just stay where I am at home and maybe just live in temporary accommodation for three months or so for Falmer if that is possible?
I really want to live at home to save money and because it would be so much easier for me if I managed to get a placement within a few miles of my home.
So summed up guys...should i do the Hastings one and if so is it still possible for me to live at home and commute to Falmer/live there for three months when need be or would it be much easier for me to just move to the area (which I really don't want to do
).
Also, one last things what are your timetables like for lectures? If they are 9 to 5 everyday then it might be worth me moving to the area, also how long and how often are your placements because if they take up say 2/3 of the year then it may be worth me staying where I am.
