Lassen variant

Hello, I'm having a bit of a problem with a specific use of lassen. I want to say something like "our teacher would have us answer the questions", but I'm not sure how. I know I could just say "the teacher wants us to answer the questions", but the former seems nicer.

Would it be something like, "Unserer Lehrer wuerden uns die Fragen beantworten lassen", or is the "would have us" a bit of an anglicism?
