Ic. Anyway just to double check, these are all the documents we need.

    1. CAS number
    2. Certificates and stuff we used to get the CAS number (school exam certs and stuff)
    3. Bank account information and proof that your parents allow you to use their funds.
    4. Passport
    5. Photo

    Am I missing out anything?
Now, I'm sincerely confused. Some say we need bank account information, and others say we don't because we are classified as "low risk". Any kind soul out there that can explain which one it is?

Hm, are you guys talking about paying the tuition fees with a bankers draft?
I was wondering if they accept POSB's bank draft.

I dont intend to set up a HSBC advance account in Singapore, rather go over and open a Lloyds student account then transfer the money over..
I think you will be issued with DBS bank drafts if you were to purchase one with POSB. You might want to check with your uni, but I don't see why they wouldn't accept a DBS bank draft.

Hey there, I would say summer vacation. Which is June to august, if I'm not wrong. Not too sure about the winter vacations though...

Btw which uni are you going to?
Hi!!! I'm going to leeds to study law. Thanks for the reply! Veevee too
I also kind of guessed June would be the best time.

I also have the naming problem. The thing is they think that Beng is my middle name! I wonder if that needs to be rectified? And for the course fees, I'm supposed to get a scholarship from the school and I'm unsure if the discounted price should be reflected?? The cas they sent me was the undiscounted price

Yeah, I had the naming problem as well :/
They sent me a form to check the details before sending me the CAS though.
I think it's best to make sure every detail is accurate if not your CAS might not be approved!

As for the price you could check out the website to see how is the procedure likeemail the uni, they are really quite helpful

Wa, that was pretty quick they take like about 8 working days!

I was considering the mode of payment and was thinking of paying through master or visa card but well will consider bankers draft too.

I don't know if i should set up the HSBC advanced account. I have no idea how do i carry my cash over, pay my fees and cover my expenses? Isnt there a heavy charge if i were to ask my parents to transfer money over from their bank account to my uk bank account? can someone recommend me a way?

Setting up an hsbc account here does save the hassle....i am planning to take a bank draft with me and setup a account there. I am still thinking setting up an hsbc account here and then go there setup another in a popular uk bank which are more accessible, which basically holding 2 uk bank account. Whatever my parent transfer me they can transfer me through hsbc and then i transfer the amount to my another account.

Not sure if there is a huge charges when transferring from a local bank to a uk bank but i think transferring through hsbc locally to uk hsbc might be more cheaper as it is link right? but the cons of just having a hsbc account in uk is that it is deem inaccessible compared to other major uk bank( i could be wrong on this) and setting up a link hsbc account may have underlying charges as we are paying for the convenience( i maybe wrong though!)

Well you have got to weigh in the option available...as for me i am still in the process of considering which is more better. Well maybe other poster could enlighten us
