Re: Eton style! At least they're not taking themselves too seriously! Gotta laugh at the disgruntled looking policeman they clearly drafted in, but you would have thought that they would have taught them to erg better!

So incredibly gay I feel sorry for anybody featured in this video, but I do hope they get bullied eternally. -

Re: Eton style! Not necessarily. Even those with the most privileged educations can screw up - I've seen the privately educated go on to become hairdressers, care workers, NEETs, teenage parents, drug addicts and make all manner of other career / lifestyle choices that their mothers would have preferred that they didn't make.(Original post by UCLEmily)
Everyone in this video will end up either as an MP or as a banker, or both.
I'm not saying that Etonians don't have better life chances than the rest of us, but it's not as though they will automatically live a charmed life. -
Re: Eton style!I somehow doubt that many old Etonians end up as hairdressers or care workers. Drug addicts I could believe.(Original post by Origami Bullets)

Re: Eton style! They made poor life choices! The point is that a privileged background doesn't protect you from your own poor choices, stupidity and lack of motivation to actually do anything with your life, whereas the previous poster seemed to think that an Eton education was an automatic ticket to a well-paid career! -
Re: Eton style! Are you talking from first-hand knowledge, or just making it up as you go along? Where are these Eton-educated care home workers and hairdressers exactly?(Original post by Origami Bullets)

Re: Eton style!I didn't say Eton, I said privately educated. And yes, I am talking from first hand knowledge - I know these people personally, and have known them since childhood!(Original post by UCLEmily)

And they went to Eton? And now work as hairdressers/care workers?
But if it can happen to people who went to other private schools, I see no reason why it can't happen to those who went to Eton. But I know very few people who went to Eton, so I can't use that as a representative sample! -
Re: Eton style!? I said everyone in this video (eg, everyone at Eton) will end up in a top job - you said some will end up as hairdressers. Now you deny that you meant that? I didn't mean it as a general comment about private schools. Eton is a very elite institution, as I say, most or all of the boys in this vid are destined for high office. That's how the system works.(Original post by Origami Bullets)

Re: Eton style! She said that she's some of the privately educated end up as hairdressers, care workers etc but even though you were talking about Eton she was hinting that if some of the privately educated can screw up then there's no reason to think why guys at Eton couldn't screw their life up too (although unlikely)(Original post by UCLEmily)
