Michael Gove has apologised to his French teacher of 30 years ago, saying sorry for "ragging" him during lessons.

But how about the rest of us? Whether your schooldays were a few years ago, or you're still living them, who would you apologise to and why?

A guy who was in my year who I insulted really badly. He looked really sad afterwards. I thought he'd been slagging me off to other people but it turned out he was talking about someone else. I also threw a lump of ice one winter that ended up hitting him in the head.

I wouldn't apologise, but i would've stuck up more for those kids branded 'weird' just because they didn't really fit in with anyone, and often you'd find yourself joining in taking the piss out of them to look cool.

I actually did apologise to someone on the last day of school - we used to be best mates and then they suddenly found other people to hang out with and started taking the piss out of me for no reason. Obviously that annoyed me and we basically slagged each other off for the next 4 years until I said sorry. They never apologised to me though. I don't know why I bothered - I guess I was after some form of closure and thought they would be mature about it but they weren't. So yeah, I wish I'd never apologised - in retrospect I had nothing to be sorry for - they were a dickhead and I was right to call them one for 4 years.

One of the kids at school, he was our scapegoat for everything and we weren't particularly nice to him.

And one of my maths teachers, can't remember his name, but I remember us almost giving him a breakdown during GCSE maths... It was a constant year of cruelty.
